Managing Director of Strategus’ New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Support Services
Robert “Bob” Poznanski is the managing director of Strategus’ New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Support Services. Bob brings over three decades of experience in community and economic development incentive finance to Strategus. For more than 20 years, he worked for the Local Initiatives Support Company (LISC), a nonprofit organization that works to improve distressed communities across the country. Under his management, LISC secured more than $1 billion in federal and state NMTC awards that it used to finance over 100 high-impact community development transactions creating about 10 million square feet of commercial and community space, generating 15,000 jobs and serving over 26,000 students, 200,000 patients and a million other low-income community residents. Since leaving LISC in 2019, Bob has helped his clients to secure about $150 million of NMTC financing for their projects. He also worked to form New Market Opportunity Fund CDE LLC (the "OppFund CDE") and serves as its President. In 2021, the OppFund CDE submitted a successful $45 million NMTC application, and since 2019, it has provided over $90 million in NMTC, Indiana state tax credit and other financing in support of more than $400 million of development activity in low-income communities.
